Why would I pick Beautiful You Med Spa over another med spa?

Beautiful You will always get back with you on inquiries and concerns. We go the extra mile in customer service in doing what we say we are going to do, following up with you, being transparent about pricing and policies, and doing it all with kindness, honesty, and integrity. We are here for you.

What services does Beautiful You offer?

We have been providing permanent cosmetics since 2006. We now offer a full range of services including aesthetic injectable services (fillers, neurotoxins, biostimulators and PDO threads), laser treatments (skin resurfacing, tattoo removal, hair removal, vein reduction, IPL), microneedling, plasma skin tightening, skin imperfection removal, dermaplaning, weight loss, hair regeneration, scalp micropigmentation (SMP), hormone therapy, and now general health visits with nurse practitioner, Sheila Bowen. Each of these can be explored in detail on our website or by giving the office a call.

Who does Beautiful You cater to?

We work with clients of all ages and genders, but we specialize in mature skin—particularly for those over 35. We have been in this business a long time and while anyone can inject skin, it takes an artistic eye and intentional effort to create a shape, a design, and volume that flatters the face of the person who will wear it. Strategic measurements, lines of reference, and the goal of the client are what is used to create the most natural and flattering outcome.

What experience can I expect at Beautiful You?

Once you’ve booked your appointment with Beautiful You, you’ll receive a confirmation email with pre-treatment instructions and a health questionnaire and consent forms to complete. Please review the instructions carefully and fill it out online for our staff to review before your appointment.

At your appointment, your licensed technician will work closely with you to determine the best treatment plan, including options like color, shape, and intensity where applicable. We’ll collaborate until we achieve the exact look or result you desire. A “before” photo may be taken to document your starting point. Feel free to come as you are and bring any reference materials or makeup products you’d like to match or incorporate.

Comfort During Your Procedure Is Our Priority

You’ll be welcomed into a clean, private space and recline comfortably with proper support. Blankets, pillows, and relaxing music are available to help you feel at ease throughout your treatment.

Your technician will explain each step as it happens and is happy to answer any questions you have along the way.

At the end, an “after” photo may be taken and detailed aftercare instructions will be reviewed with you. You’ll also receive any recommended products to take home to support your comfort and healing.

Will my procedure hurt?

Beautiful You goes above and beyond to make your procedure the most comfortable it can be. The clinic provides various numbing protocols and accommodates individual patient pain tolerances.

Answers to Your Top Questions Across All Our Treatments

Permanent Cosmetics

Is it really permanent? How long does it last?

Permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because color is implanted into the dermal layers of the skin and cannot be washed off. The skin on our faces replaces itself every 30-days, so over time, the color will fade. This is a good thing because as we age, our colors soften and our preferences change. Over time your permanent cosmetics can change with you.

Results typically last 1–3 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you follow aftercare instructions. Touch-ups help keep your color fresh.

Am I too old for permanent cosmetics?

Most of our clients are between 30 and 75 years old, with the majority in their 50s and 60s. At this stage, many women realize they’ve been wearing the same makeup style for years and either grow tired of the routine or find it difficult to apply makeup daily. Permanent cosmetics offer a beautiful, hassle-free solution to maintain the polished look you want—without the daily effort.

Are permanent cosmetic procedures painful?

Because permanent cosmetics involve breaking the skin, some discomfort is normal—especially on the lips, which have many nerve endings. Our skilled practitioners use a combination of topical anesthetics to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure, no matter the technique. Many clients also take anti-anxiety or pain-relief medication prescribed by their doctor beforehand, though most find over-the-counter options like Aleve, Tylenol, or Ibuprofen sufficient. After your treatment, applying an ice pack can reduce any pain or swelling. Your technician will also guide you through deep breathing exercises to help you relax and manage discomfort during the session.

How long does a permanent cosmetic procedure take?

Depending on the procedure and technician, sessions can take between 1 to 3 hours. The typical appointment usually lasts about 1.5 hours, largely because the topical anesthetic needs time to take full effect. Feel free to bring a book or relax while you wait. Touch-ups typically take a similar amount of time since we work over the same area. Please note that heavy eyeliner applications may require extra time and could incur additional costs.

Are permanent cosmetics safe?

Your safety is our top priority. Permanent cosmetic tattooing is performed using sterile, single-use needles and equipment to eliminate any risk of cross-contamination. Our team follows strict hygiene and infection control protocols in line with CDC and health department standards. All pigments used are specially formulated for cosmetic tattooing and undergo rigorous testing for safety and quality. Procedures are performed by licensed, trained professionals who are experts in their craft. While minor redness or swelling can occur, serious complications are extremely rare. We also conduct thorough consultations to screen for allergies or skin sensitivities before your treatment, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience every time.

How do permanent cosmetics compare to conventional makeup?

When you apply pencil, powder, or liquid makeup—whether it’s eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, or lip liner—you’re adding texture on top of your skin to enhance your features. Permanent cosmetics work differently: pigments are implanted beneath the skin’s surface, creating a smooth, natural look once healed, almost like your skin’s own color. Because of this, permanent makeup tends to appear softer and more subtle than traditional products, especially if you layer on eyeshadow, brow powders, or lipstick over it. You always have the option to add conventional makeup on top for a bolder look on special occasions. Permanent makeup is perfect for busy days when you want to skip the daily routine, for active lifestyles like sports or swimming, travel, or anytime you want to maintain a polished, “always-ready” look without the fuss.

Neuromodulators & Facial Fillers

What’s the difference between neuromodulators and fillers?

Neuromodulators relax muscles to reduce wrinkles caused by movement, like frown lines and crow’s feet. Fillers add volume and smooth out deeper lines or restore fullness in areas like cheeks and lips.

How soon will I see results of a neuromodulator treatment?

Most people notice smoother lines in 3–5 days, with full results in about 2 weeks.

How long do neuromodulators and fillers last?

Neuromodulators typically last 3–4 months. Fillers can last anywhere from 6 months up to 18 months, depending on the type used and the area treated.

Does it hurt to receive neuromodulators or fillers?

Beautiful You prioritizes your comfort before any facial injectable procedure by using potent and effective topical anesthetics. Additionally, many of the products we use contain built-in anesthetics, helping most clients experience minimal discomfort during treatment.

How long does an injectable procedure take?

Most appointments take about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated. This includes consultation, treatment, and aftercare instructions. It’s a quick, convenient way to refresh your look with minimal disruption to your day.

I don’t want to end up with an overdone or “frozen” look like some celebrities.

Understood! Before we start, you’ll have a thorough consultation to discuss your personal goals and desired results. We always begin with a conservative approach, gradually enhancing your features to ensure you look natural and feel confident. With experience specializing in facial contouring and symmetry, our nurse practitioner knows how to highlight your best features with subtle, artful precision.

Are there any side effects to receiving neuromodulators or fillers?

Common side effects include minor redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. These usually resolve within a few days.

The face has a rich network of capillaries, so some bruising can happen after treatment. To minimize this, avoid aspirin, blood thinners, and ibuprofen for a few days before your appointment. Steering clear of essential oils during this time can also help reduce bruising. We’ll provide you with Arnica gel to take home—it helps speed up the healing process by breaking down bruises. If needed, creative makeup can easily conceal any bruising in the days following your treatment.

If you experience any adverse reactions, please call us right away so we can assist you promptly.

What if I need adjustments to my new look?

We recommend waiting two weeks before returning for any touch-ups, as it takes that time for the products to fully settle. Adjustments are a normal part of the process, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you feel any tweaks are needed.

PDO Threads

What are PDO threads?

PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are dissolvable sutures placed under the skin to lift and stimulate collagen. They gradually absorb, leaving behind firmer, smoother skin.

What areas can PDO thread lift be used on?

PDO therapy is effective for lifting and rejuvenating many areas of the face—including cheeks, brows, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jawline, and neck—as well as other parts of the body. During your consultation, our team will assess your needs and help determine if PDO thread lifting is the right treatment for your desired area.

How long does it take to see the effects of a PDO thread lift?

Keep in mind that PDO thread lift results develop gradually, as your body naturally produces collagen and elastin over time—peaking around six months after treatment.

How long do PDO threads last?

Results can last between 2 to 3 years, after which follow-up treatments may be needed to maintain your refreshed look.

Does a PDO thread lift hurt?

PDO thread treatments may cause some mild to moderate discomfort, but most clients find it manageable. We use topical anesthetics and sometimes local numbing injections to minimize pain during the procedure. You might feel slight pressure or tugging as the threads are placed, but it’s generally well tolerated. After treatment, some soreness or tenderness is normal and typically fades within a few days.

How long does a PDO thread lift take?

A PDO thread lift typically takes about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. This includes preparation, the procedure itself, and post-treatment care instructions. It’s a relatively quick treatment with minimal downtime.

Are there any side effects to a PDO thread lift?

One of the biggest benefits of a PDO thread lift is minimal side effects and no downtime—you can return to your normal routine immediately. You might experience mild swelling or bruising for a few days, which will gradually fade. We’ll provide you with Arnica gel to help reduce bruising and speed up healing. If needed, creative makeup can easily conceal any temporary bruising in the days following your treatment.

Weight Loss

What types of weight loss programs do you offer?

We offer personalized weight loss programs that combine medical support—including GLP-1 medications—with lifestyle management like nutrition coaching, exercise guidance, and behavioral support to help you reach your goals safely and effectively.

What are GLP-1 medications and how do they work?

GLP-1 medications mimic a natural hormone that helps regulate appetite and blood sugar. They can help reduce hunger and improve satiety, making it easier to stick to a healthy eating plan.

Are GLP-1 medications safe?

Yes, GLP-1 medications are FDA-approved for weight management and are generally safe when prescribed and monitored by a healthcare professional. We’ll review your medical history to ensure they’re right for you.

Will I need to change my lifestyle while on the program?

Yes! Lifestyle management—including healthy eating, regular physical activity, and behavior changes—is an essential part of any weight loss program and helps ensure lasting results.

How long does the program last?

The duration varies based on your individual goals and progress. We work with you to develop a sustainable plan and regularly adjust it as needed.

What kind of support will I receive?

You’ll receive ongoing guidance from our medical team, including regular check-ins, nutritional counseling, and encouragement to help you stay motivated and on track.

Are there any side effects from the medications?

Some people may experience mild side effects like nausea or digestive changes, which often improve over time. We monitor you closely and adjust your treatment as needed.

How do I get started?

Schedule a consultation with our team to discuss your health history, goals, and which program options are best suited for you.
